Frequently Asked Questions

What is MTS Recruit?

MTS Recruit is a conference aiming to raise up the next generation of gospel workers, both in Australia and across the globe. Our delegates (people considering an apprenticeship) can participate as individuals or along with a Local Conference Gathering (LCG), as it is run in an online or face to face format.

MTS Recruit seeks to inspire people to prayerfully engage in winning the world for Christ by multiplying Gospel workers through ministry apprenticeships (Matthew 9:35-38 & 2 Tim 2:2)

MTS Recruit exists to help godly young men and women prepare for life beyond 2020. Delegates will be challenged to take their next step in pursuing a life lived under the Lordship of Jesus, and asked to consider undertaking a ministry apprenticeship for training.

When does Registration close?

Even though MTS Recruit is from Oct 2nd – 4th 2020, you can register before, during or after the Conference and have different experiences of MTS Recruit. Your 3 options are:

  2. Conference Contentcloses Sunday 29/11/2020 11:59pm AEDT

The date that you register by determines which Conference experience can participate in.

What Role do Peer Group Leaders Play in MTS Recruit?

Peer Group leaders guide a small group of delegates though biblical material that will help in their decision making.

They work with their Peer Group in two 1.5 hour sessions, which will be either face to face at a Local Conference Gathering (LCG) or online.

Peer Groups are organised around stages of ministry thinking, which is categorised into 4 different strands.

  • People who haven’t really considered full-time ministry
  • People who have considered full-time ministry but have no definite plans
  • People who will pursue full-time ministry, but likely not in the next year
  • People planning to do a Ministry Apprenticeship in 2021

What Role do Mentors Play in MTS Recruit?

Mentors meet one on one with a delegate who is either training or currently serving in full-time ministry.

This can be done face to face or online, and is a great opportunity for our delegates to chat with someone who can help guide their thinking about ministry.

Each discussion takes about an hour, but we strongly encourage mentors to talk with 2-4 delegates across the conference.

Can I be a Mentor / Peer Group Leader?

We’d love to have as many people as possible to help in these roles. See more information.

Can I have a registration discount?

We think we have priced the Conference to make it accessible for as many people as possible. However, if price is an issue for you, please do contact us at events@mts.com.au

Why is the Conference Free for People Outside Australia?

We’ve done this for a few reasons.

Firstly, it is pretty complicated to work out a relative price for different currencies and economies ($20AUD is very different to K32,000).

Yet, the key reason is because we want our Australian attendees to help facilitate this conference to become a global one. We believe that no one should be prevented from being equipped to serve Jesus, so we are asking Aussies to consider seeing their ticket purchase as an investment.

Your purchase allows a brother or sister in Christ from another part of the globe, to become better prepared for a lifetime of ministry.

If price is an issue for you, please contact us at events@mts.com.au

Who is Running MTS Recruit?

It is underwritten by Ministry Training Strategy Limited, an organisation that seeks to multiply gospel workers through ministry apprenticeships.
